I just got a 2004 C32 and my wife and I both think the stereo's sound (well, the FM for sure) isn't very good. Sounds tinny. I've boosted the base and and lowered the treble and selected the "small space" option and it's still not very good. What's going on? Are these stereos really not very good?

Are there any good aftermarket improvements?

Otherwise a GREAT car!

Comand System

Yes, I do have the Comand System. So I'm more or less stuck with that part of the stereo. Speakers and post-Comand improvements are doable.

You will need to remove the Bose amp and get the pinouts for the connectors on the COMAND. After determining which pins are for the speaker outputs for a non-Bose setup, you will need to splice in line level converters, run wire to the new amp, mount the amp, run wires to the speakers and replace all the speakers. It is doable, but not easily or cheaply.
