Hi, all.

Can anyone verify if there is an option when the the car or wagon is ordered to have the changer mounted in the trunk of the sedan or the rear of the wagon instead of the glovebox?

I like the entire glovebox to be available for storage. I saw that the 2001 C-Class sedan changers were trunk mounted.

Please let me know.

Thanks for the info on the glovebox mount. Is there an option or is the wiring still present for the trunk mount or cargo area mount of the changer? -- instead of the glovebox.

I would like to know prior to ordering the car.

I believe the wiring is present, for the glovebox, whether or not a CD changer is ordered.

I'm sure it can be done, but the power wires and fiber optic cables will have to be run back to the trunk.
Thanks, Lynn.

I have been told by some dealerships that the factory will not be able to do it, but the dealer would after the car arrives. This would be at substantial additional cost . If I buy from the changer from the dealer, then about $1000. To relocate the factory unit from the glovebox, it would be less, but probably upwards of $400-$600.

As long as no one is confirming the cable being in the trunk as well, I guess it will be in the glovebox for now.
