I have a Stock C230K Sport Sedan with C2 Package. So I have just the stock speakers. I noticed that on the dashboard there is a mesh that looks like it would hold a center speaker. So my question is Can a center speaker be installed there? How would one install a center speaker and are there already connections there for a center speaker?

Thanks.

That large triangular/teardrop shaped mesh area is part of the vehicle's climate control system. Put your hand over it sometime when the climate control system is running - you'll feel air coming out. Not a good place for a speaker.

From MB site:
" 2003 Options
Premium Sound System

Bose sound system with 8 speakers including a dash-mounted center fill speaker and a 9" Nd Neodymium Iron Boron high-efficiency woofer. Bose AudioPilot digital processing helps compensate for unwanted ambient noise with no perceived change in audio volume. "

I think when you don't get the Bose option, it's just an empty hole where you can install your own speaker. An aftermarket speaker should be fine there.[/b]
