Hey guys,

I was just wondering if there was a quick fix that to my climate control backlight being out. the other backlights (instrument cluster, cd controls, etc) are in working order.

I'm kind of choked, as i just got the car back from the dealership after the 144,000 km maintenance. (Isn't it a weird coincidence)...

How much will it be to replace the bulb, if that is the problem?

Thanks a lot.

First thing to check would be the adjustment knob that controls the brightness of the dash lights. I know from experience on an earlier W124 that if the knob has been moved it can turn off the lights making you think of bigger problems. Also, make sure a fuse has not blown. Look for and rule out the simple solutions first.

It's actually pretty easy to replace. Just get yourself a set of radio keys. Stick 'em in and pull the unit out. Replace the bulb, and stick the unit back in!
