The CLK 430 is powered by a 4.3 litre V8 engine also found in the ML - Class, and S - class, and possibly the new E - Class but I'm not sure of that yet. As with all V8's it has good low - down torque and is whisper quiet at low revs, with a pleasing roar when extended to the 6,000rpm redline. This model is available in standard elegance, classic or avantgarde trim...pick the avantgarde if you're a hard driver. It's auto - only, with a 5 - speed manual transmission with 'tiptronic' manual gearshift function. it's a fast car, with a top speed of 155mph (limited) and 0 - 100km (62 mph) in just over 6 seconds
A few notes:
1. If you're talking about the recently - replaced 'old model' CLK, be sure and negotiate a hefty discount off your MB dealer - the new model is out now, and they'll want to clear unregistered models off the floor.
2. The V8 model is probably more than you'll need, but hey who wants a V6 in a car that looks this good?
3. To see some nice modified/ stock CLK photos, visit www.cardomain.com, this site will put you in touch with other owners and give them a chance to ask them their opinions on the car.
4. I saw a Linalite blue CLK the other day with a cream leather interior and it looked the bomb!
