Hello I am in the process of possibly purchasing an 03 C230 Coupe and would appreciate some input on the car. Can you please give me some advise on this car especially any pros or cons on the new 1.8 engine. Any and all good and bad experinces will be greatly appreciated. Thanks :?:

You can find anything negative here by reading the threads....there are some minor problems, but 99% are easily fixed through the warranty.

If you are getting a manual transmission, C7 is a must. The tranny shifts much better with the short throw shifter which is only sold with that package.

Many of us bought the car because of the Panorama roof.

It's a great car and fun to drive. I have mine for a year with no problem. Great service from MB with free loaner car when your car due for service (I got 2002 C320 last time as a loaner). Happy with the car and with the service

Got the Brilliant Silver with the ash cloth interior with auto, wheel package,

I didn't really want heated seats but they came with the car I ended up buying. Surprisingly, I've discovered that I really like this option. We had a couple of cold rainy nights here in "sunny" So Cal recently and it was very nice to get in the car and crank up the heat on the seats!

Congrats JFP! Hope you enjoy the car. I have cloth, and sometimes wish I had leather (mostly for the look and feel), but it is hot in the summer and cold in the winter.. so cloth seats aren't so bad. I recently was given an E class loaner at the dealer on a very cold day and those leather seats were COLD. It took several minutes for the heat in them to really kick in. In the meantime I froze my butt off (pun intended).

Still, they are pretty and smell nice.... :wink:
