I have a 99 320E that has just started to have some electrical gremlins. It started with the outside temperature (thermometer?) growing progressively dim until now I can only read it at night. The clock has now done the same and the first two digits of the odometer seem to be next. Are there bulbs inside that can be replaced or does the whole display need to be replaced? If so. how much does one of those cost?? Thanks, in advance

All that is is a couple small little light bulbs that need replacement. I believe in '99 your instrument cluster should come out with MB radio keys, if not the old MB puller hooks will get it out. If your crafty, you can get the IC out without removing the steering wheel. It's a quick, easy job and not expensive at all. Even if you pay some one to do it, it should be at the most 1 hour labor. I do recommend changing all the bulbs while you're in there though, that way you won't have to pull the cluster again in a week if another bulb decides to go out.
