Alright,
The check engine light came on the other day after the car had been sitting in the airport parking lot for three weeks. So this morning I popped the hood and disconnected the batter to reset the light and see if the warning would go away.
The warning went away, but after the car starts, it pops up a display malfunction, visit workshop warning, and the lights, wipers, seats etc. don't work. I can unplug the batter and the lights and wipers will work until the car's started and then I start all over going into the above scenario.
The good side of the story thought is the check engine light no longer comes one. :D
Any thoughts anyone.

The battery really should not be disconnected. The seats, windows, and sunroof, it you have one can be resynched per the instructions in the operator's manual. The ESP will need to be resynched too. Not sure what to do about the lights and the wipers.
