Anyone replace their own front air struts on an R-class? I’ve done the rear. Super easy. The front seem a little more involved but still only really 3 bolts and then the top.

Do I need a ball joint tool? Any special tools needed? Anyone know the torque values for the 3 bolts (ball joint, sway bar linkage, and bottom support bolt)

I’m not having any luck finding any walk throughs or videos of the process for the R. The Arnott video kinda skips over that part. Is it the same for any other mercedes models that I can cross reference?

Thanks,

I’m replacing the fronts on my ‘07 R320 this afternoon.

Any chance it is similar to the ML series for that year? Perhaps there are videos for the ML available?

After some research I found out it’s the same platform as the GL x164 and the M w164. Found a couple good videos.

BoatWaco - you seem to be the only person on any of these forums. Where is everyone?
