Well its finally happened. Picked up my new C230K yesterday morning - how pleased am I?! :D

First impressions are luxury and performance. Can't believe how much grip the beast has and the brakes are awesome (fortunately!).

Will give you a run down of Sequentronic gearbox and the Parktronic system when I've chalked up a few miles. However, first impressions are v positive. Very much enjoyed flicking between gears without the work of the clutch. Takes a bit of finesse to go even vaguely smoothly between 1st and 2nd, and even 2nd and 3rd to an extent, however, I still have to "learn" how to drive it to get best results.

Parktronic is very sensitive and I like the visual displays on the dash and over the rear window as well as the audible warnings. Its already proved very useful as the view out of the car does not make for close maneuvering!! (at least not til I'm very used to the dimensions).

Will send some pics for Pweb/Lynn to post soon to show off the AMG trim. To my mind looks great - you'll no doubt let me know what you think as well!!

Now - where else do I "need" to drive today?!

Hi everyone,

I am new to this site and have been reading everyone's postings on the C230K with great interest.

I currently own a 2002 Acura RSX Type S that has been nothing but problems for me. I am currently going through a lemon law process with it and am going to be in the market for a new car very soon.

I really liked the size/performance/economy/utility of the RSX so I have been looking at other cars that are similar to it. This includes the VW GTI, Mazda Protege5, and a few others. A friend pointed out the MB C230K to me and I have been very intrigued about it ever since.

What do you all think about the C230K? Is it a worthy successor to the RSX-S? It sure sounds like it! How does the automatic perform?

Any suggestions, tips, or warnings about this car would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Well I don't have any bad experience with the car - I love it!
Very safe, reliable, awesome brakes, esp, abs, 8 air bags. I wouldn't compare it to an Acura... "Dude, you are getting a Benz!" :D

Acura is Acura, and Benz is Benz, nothing more to say ;)

To tell you the truth - I'd buy it again and again!
Service is great, also - lifetime roadside assistance is a great thing to have. If you run out of gas, or get a flat tire - Mercedes service will drive to your car, fix the flat, give you several gallons of gas - free, till the car exists. Even with 300.000 miles and no warranties :)

Gotta love it. I can go on and on but the point is - I'm not getting a car other than Benz :)

Pweb, thanks for the info. It sounds like a great car and something that I would really enjoy. I've never owned any European vehicle before and I think that this could be the one.

I noticed in another thread on this site that several people were talking about a "stalling" of the vehicle. Is this still a problem? Was it EVER a problem? Do you or does anyone else know what the problem was?

Thanks again for your thoughts on the vehicle.

I've heard some people had this problem, but after a visit to a dealer the problem was fixed - replaced fuel pump.
