Got my Baby yesterday!

7853 Views 18 Replies 10 Participants Last post by  JrdBeau
Went down to my dealer yesterday and picked up my 03' C230. It's silver, auto, C4, C2, CD changer, and leather. Just in case you guys still don't know, heated seats are still included on the C4 package along with the additon of xeonon headlights. I am still in shock that I own this car! It's seems quicker revving than the 02'. It was probably the best car purchasing experience I have ever had. Still trying to figure everything out and trying to wipe my uncontrollable smile on my face. (You look weird at work if you're smiling!) :D

If you guys have any questions about the 03', I'll be happy to attempt to inform.

Congratulations, SilverC. I sure you will be as happy with your '03 as I am with my '02.
Feels good doesn't it? :)
Thanks Lynn and Pweb. It really feels good to be driving my first benz. I have been looking at this car for over a year. It was and wasn't the best time to buy the car so I just went for it. Have you guys joined the MB car club membership that came with your car?
Nope, I haven't...

Yeah, MB's are very nice cars...!
Post pictures of your car..

By the way, one thing I can't figure out, is to how da hell do you open your trunk WITHOUT the key? I can't find a button in the car to open it...?!
SilverC

Congratulations and enjoy the ride! My baby is now just over a month old and I truly enjoy driving it.

1. After you unlock the car with the key button, there is a handle next to the rear license plate light that you use to open the hatch. Just squeeze and lift.
2. If you're talking about opening it with the key in the ignition, I don't know if the following will work as I've never tried it. Use the dash button to unlock the doors and see if the hatch will unlock. I know of no way to pop the hatch while in the car.

Yep, that's exactly what I'm talking about... I'm SURE that there's a way to do it, we just need to find it! :D
Ther is no way to open the hatch from inside the car. I specifically asked when I picked my car up, and was surprised when she (salesperson) told me it was not possible. She spent an hour going over the car with me and knew everything else about it, so I'm pretty sure she knew what she was telling me was true. To bad because it is a nice feature that even cheap cars have.
If you are in the hatch area, you can push the green blinky button on the bottom of the hatch. IMHO, hatch is also a part of door, so there is no reason to open it remotely unless you are in that area....:)

BTW, why do you need to open it remotely?
Why? Let's say I'm sitting in a car and someone wants to put some groceries into my trunk. So I need to turn off my car, get out of it and open the trunk...
Re: opening the hatch

As long as the car doors are unlocked you can open the hatch, just by pushing the button on the outside of the hatch located just above the license plate, you have to feel for it as you can't see it unless you are sitting on the ground! (it has a rubber cover on it). When you lock the doors the hatch also locks and the gas filler door locks. When you unlock the doors either with the remote or the button on the dash, the hatch unlocks and you can open it with the button on the outside. Its actually a better system than cars with a release on the inside; if you close the hatch you can open it right away instead of going back into the car to release the hatch !!
Yeah... I think it makes sense
Hmmm never thought of it that way before... Thanks

I just ordered my 2k3 today and I wasn't told about that. I just checked the book and it states:

"Package C4: Bi-Xenon high intensity discharge projector low-beam and high-beam headlamps. Heated headlamp washers."

If heated seats are included I might call them tomorrow and change my order.

BTW, congrats on the car.

Thanks,
Erik
Over my excitement of finding out that the C4 package now comes with xenons, I assumed that is what I have. I do have heated seats but don't think I got xenons. I am asking the dealer today about it.

Thank you for asking. My salesman is not in today, but he will be in on Saturday. If the package includes the seats I will add it to my car since it will not be officially ordered until Monday.

Thanks,
Erik
I'll try to get a hold of him later. I wonder if I don't have xenons if I could complain since it states that I am suppose to. When I asked him about xenons when I bought the car, he said yes that I do have them.
The first 2003's come with the same C4 package as the 2002's. C32's are deing delivered with the bi-xenons, but it might be November before the coupes get them. But it could be earlier, too.
Hey guys, I currently own an Acura RSX-S (which I will be dumping very shortly) and it has the same hatch locking function as what you are stating. You can unlock the doors remotely from the key fob which will also unlock the hatch. There is no way to pop the hatch from within the car though. There is a plastic lever on the outside of the car that you just lift to open. I initially thought that this was lame and was going to be a pain but I quickly got used to it and realized that this setup was just fine. No real need to pop the hatch from inside the car that I can think of.

The more and more I look at it, the more and more I think that I will be getting a C230K to replace the RSX-S :D
