While driving home my 91 420sel died on me. I was doing 45 and it just quit. Coasted into a gas station (I had gas in the tank!), had it towed home and began to check it out. Engine would turn over but spark was very weak so replaced ignition coil. I now have good spark but still no start. Checked OVP relay, and although it looked OK, replaced it also, since it was probably original. The car will still not start, although after cranking it for 20-30 seconds it sounds like it wants to. Would a faulty fuel pump relay cause these symptoms? Is there a way to check the relay?

Car has 200K miles. I acquired it earlier this year with no maintenance history. My first Mercedes and I love it!

Update

I got it running. Spark plugs were excessively gapped. The combination of weak ignition coil spark and plugs gapped from .040-.054 (should be .032) apparently was too much. Sometimes it's the simple things!
