I just got the c230k back from the shop. I took it in for a hesitation problem. What would happen was that while driving, usually at speeds above 35mph, the car would sometimes lose its power and I would have to step on the gas to get it to pick back up. Well, they said they found and fixed the problem: faulty fuel sender (?). It seemed great for about one hour then--- whoops--- again with the hesitation. This is very frustrating and I feel it could be hazardous on the highway. Has anyone else encountered this problem? I guess I will call them monday and take it back. I really dont want to lemon law this car. I Love this car. Thanks for any input.
Mine has done the same thing, though maybe less severly than yours - it'll suddenly lose power for a few seconds, and then come back before I can react or test it to see whats really happening. My pet theory is that its connected to the bad ESP/BAS wiring I've heard others complain about, and that it's actually the traction control kicking in at inappropriate moments. Then again, I'm probably full of it.
hmmm... thats interesting... maybe I will mention it to the service dept. Didnt i read somewhere that they were about to recall the 2002's to fix this problem? What are they waiting for? Someone to die on the road? Come on Benz...
Did you ever get anywhere with this? Driving from Salem to Portland tonight it did it again, and immediately afterward the dash console displayed faults for the ESP and BAS. I'm going to take mine in for service this time, and see what the deal is...
