Sold it to a buddy a year and a half ago and he ran it until it wouldn't start- so he sold it back to me for half of what he gave me for it- what a guy...

Anyways, I didn't have it long to begin with so I am very green about alot of things. Its an 82 model: do these cars have a lift pump other than the one on the injection pump (where the primer mounts)? The reason I ask is because that was one of its problems- no fuel to the injectors but the clear fuel filter was full. So I installed an inline electric fuel pump to get it going. Then realized the valves needed adjusting. Did that and she starts and runs like a champ.

One other question I have is: the little vacuum switch under that small black cover on the valve cover: what is it and what does it do and when? One port goes to the firewall (if I remember correctly), one port goes to the injection pump (aneroid I think) and the other goes to a 2 or 3 port switch. I'd run a search but don't have any clues.

Appreciate any help- I've been following some of your discussions so I know I'm talking (writing) to the right people!

Nevermind, fellas-

I found the answer- and on this site, too.

I know now that the questions were very academic but it still would have been great if someone would have pointed me in the right direction. Sorry to have offended you guys with such basic questions.

I have a wealth of information to share with people concerning things that I know about diesel injection from working on diesels for 15 years with 13years of experience with Bosch injection, but all that is academic so I'll keep that information to myself- I would hate to offend anyone with the basics.

Thanks anyways, fellas- good luck with your endeavors.
