There are no aftermarket intakes available. It seems the stock intake delivers more air than the car can use. One person spent hundreds on a custom carbon fiber intake and on a modified Pipercross. The best result he got on a dyno was an increase of 2 hp. this is within the accuracy limits of the dyno, so there may or may not have been any increase.

 adding a K&N filter would help; does anyone know when or if one will be available?
K&N does not currently make a filter for the coupe and it is unknown when or if they will.

We would need to continually write K&N to get them to produce products. Thats what we did for my old Maxima and we were able to get aftermarket support when originally we had none. Now they make Altezza's, turbos, indiglo gauges, and other parts that would not usually be associated with a Maxima. Its all in numbers. If K&N thinks that there are a lot of c230c owners out there they might make a filter or cone adapter.

You 2003 owners may have more luck doing that since the 1.8 is the engine for the next several years. We 2002 owners will be a much smaller group. the filter box on the 2003's appears to use a different filter than the 2002's

What other changes were made between the '02 and '03? Also, is it possible to have an '01? I have found different places that say there is an '01.

Thanks,
Erik
The only major change from 2002 to 2003 is the engine. Otherwise, there are a new color, two optional wood trims, and bi-xenon headlights later this year.

There are 2001 sedans, but no coupes. Some people say there are 2001 coupes in Europe, but I'm not so sure of that. Coupes may have been sold in Europe a couple of months sooner than here.
The 2002's have an iron block 2.3. The 2003's have an all new 1.8. Actually there are four versions of the 1.8 but only one is sold in North America. Info on the new engine is here
