Do all of the 124 cars have rust problems at the jacking point tubes? My 88 260E is "through" at one point and scaling at 2 others. I looked at an 88 TE yesterday and was very impressed until i got the car on a lift. 3 of the 4 jacking points had been repaired (and pretty crudely). Is this a rust belt and northeast USA problem only? I'm looking for a very very nice 88 or 89 300TE and an wondering whether I should just consider southern/western cars.
