hello all, i have a 1993 SL600 roadster. The previous owner had a 400 watt amplifer for the radio installed in it. The installer mounted the amplifier to the front wall of the trunk compartment. well anyone knowing anything about SL600's knows what's on the other side of the metal wall of the trunk compartment. That's right the back side of the fuel tank. So now their is a small leak in the fuel tank. does any one know what the fuel tank is made of?? taping it with a screw driver it sounds metal. A magnet is not attracted to the tank. so is it alumium, composite materal , or just what kind of material is it made from??? and how do i fix the leak??
thanks James ( bluejay6250

there are available metal epoxy (home depot and or hardwares) but safer to change the tank for safety, will cost a lot .
