The multi-way light switch on the W115 220D 1969. If I switch it one way only some lights will come on like say the first position on right it’ll be just the back drivers side taillight. It’s like this for some of the other positions as well. Does anyone know if this is normal for this switch? Or do I have a bad switch. Thank you

I do not know if goes as far back as 1969, however all of my post 1985 cars and a switch position feature that turns on the rear drivers parking light as a safety feature when being short term parked on a street.

Do all of the lights work correctly when using the headlights and parking lights in regular switch positions?

It’s kind of odd. It does but on the switch I have even some of the headlights only one will come on but then in the normal position for it they’ll both come on so I don’t think it’s the bulb.

That may be normal.......however seeing as the Classic Center could help with the intakes it may be worth shooting them an email about your switch function just to make sure it is behaving correctly.

Completely normal

All the way counter clockwise - Left (US drivers side) parking lights front and rear (if you parked on a narrow road and the car was in the road a bit so others could see your car)
one click clockwise - Right side parking lights
---- note the above two will not work if the key is on, only if the key is off

two clicks clockwise - straight vertical (but after 45 years it might not be exactly vertical any more) is everything off
three clicks clockwise - all parking lights & license plate light & dash board lights on
four clicks clockwise - headlights on also
-- Here you can pull the switch out and this would turn on your fog lights if you had them, is will come out 2 clicks, there are two circuits but I think only one was ever wired.

Although the switch is a different shape it is the exact same operation as MB Headlight switches into the '90's perhaps beyond.
