I purchased my 1st benz (C230k) almost 2 months ago, and I'm finding it curious that I got not one phone call, follow up letter, or survey from Mercedes or the dealer. I've purchased 2 Infinitis before, and they're all over you (both dealer and manufacturer) to make sure you're having a good experience. Just curious whether this was the norm?

Unfortunately I think it is the norm for Mercedes. I haven't received a note or a call from my dealer either, whereas we just leased an Accord for my wife and we were called a couple of times by the salesperson and once by a customer service person at the dealership as well, just to make sure we were happy with the car. They also told us to expect a call from Honda.

I don't know why it takes the Germans so long to figure out how to treat their customers. I've bought a few BMWs in the past also, and never was contacted by them either.

I was called by my sales person about a month after I took delivery of my C230K, just to see how everything was.

After my first trip in for servicing, I got a letter from the dealership telling me to expect a survey. They said that if I filled it out favorably, they would detail my car and fill it with gas. Seeings how I like the way the service dept. worked anyway, I did it.

I had also been sent a survey from MB regarding my sales experience.

We purchased our 2000 ML320 and our 2003 C230 sedan from different dealerships here in San Diego. In the weeks following both purchases (3 years apart), we've received numerous calls/correspndenses/surveys from both the dealership and mbusa.

That's strange (at least to me) that they haven't contacted you...

about these surveys, it may or may not seem insignificant to you but believe me, everyone at the dealer takes them VERY seriously. answer each question as you feel fit but please don't score all the questions low because one person at the dealer pissed you of. peoples pay do get affected.

I bought a C230 coupe in December of last year. I got a call from the salesman, a call from the dealer, a survey from MBUSA and 6 or 7 independant owner's surveys in the mail, along with a leather glovebox organizer from MBUSA. I wonder how I got on the survey list? What is fun is financing a car with Mercedes credit and watching who they sell your name to. That was the first time I ever got a Brooks brothers' catalog in the mail.
