Hello all. I bought a 1987 300E with 80k miles in excellent condition yesterday. It is overdue for a maintenance service (since around 40k miles has had only oil/filter changes). So, I'm going to do all of that (spark plugs, ATF fluid & filter, brake fluid, coolant, fuel filter). My question is, is there any advisable time to change other stuff, like the spark plug wires, distributor cap and rotor? Or major stuff like the water pump or timing belt? I'm planning to change the diff. and p/s fluid, but the other stuff I just mentioned is fairly expensive proposition so I only want to do it if necessary. Thanks

Hi Bubba,
Welcome to Benzforum. Congratulations on your purchase, these are tremendous cars, and this one should last you a long time with only 80k miles on the speedo. I noticed you are about to undertake some of the standard maintenance for your car. The sponsor of this site, (importpartsonline.com) also operates an import parts business, and as such, we can help you purchase your original equipment(OE) and original equipment manufactuer(OEM) parts at a significant discount to what you would normally pay at your local dealer. If you would like to send a list of the parts you need to [email protected], I'll be glad to send you a quote. Again, welcome to the forum, we look forward to your input and comments in the future.

Ken
