A question. My 300D runs high oil pressure by the gauge on the dash. On the 0-3 scale it pins the needle when the car is being driven and drops to about 2.25-2.5 when it is at idle in gear. I just changed the oil and filter, everything else is by all accounts normal. So the question is, is it acceptable to have the pressure max out the gauge?

High is good

It is normal, in fact desirable, to have your oil pressure gauge peg out at the max. It should drop some at idle but quickly go to the max when you give it some "gas".
