has anybody else had this problem? I tried to engage the parking brake yesterday and the peddle offered no resistance. It just clicked all the way to the the end. I tested to make sure and it was not engaged, the car was able to move. It is very cold here right now, is it possible that it is frozen or did a cable or something break? (first casualty for my baby after almost 5 months of perfect performance.... )

It is posssible that it is frozen, but usually that happens when the car is parked and the brake won't release. It is also possible that the cable broke. Sounds like you might want to call your dealer and see what they say.

Turns out I actually need a new part for the parking brake. Beats me what went wrong. Anyway, can't complain about the service. I got a C230 magma red loaner. Only difference, it has the panoramic sunroof and it's automatic. So not too traumatic being seperated for the first time.

Yea, I got the same problem. It goes right to the floor and waaay to easily. Guess I should get to my dealer before I've got to park on a hill.

Just got the car back. The dealer thinks they used the wrong spring because the one he used was a dark colour and much thicker. The old one was silver coloured and thinner. Not actually broken but probably about to... So you better get it replaced before you really need it :!:
