First time Benz Owner: I just bought a 99 CLK 320 with no radio included in the sale. The wiring harness has been switched over to the VW plugs (seems to be common among MB people). So I bought the VW wiring harness, wired it up to my new radio that I bought, and I've got the radio to power up, but I get no sound. I was told that the Blue wire might be the amp turn-on, so I attached that, and still no sound.

I've heard that this car has a factory amp located in the trunk, how do I go about bypassing the amp, so I can use just the power generated by the headunit? Do they make such a wiring harness? amp bypass?. I've also read about a FM modulator, but not quite sure how that factors in. Any input is greatly appreciated!.
