Greetings, all. I'm in the process of converting my 78 450 SEL 4.5 L from the Bosch CIS to the Megasquirt EFI and had a few questions for any techies here about the stock Bosch fuel and ignition system that are not covered in the Haynes or other manuals I have.

1) Is my distributor a variable reluctance or Hall effect trigger?
2) What type of ignition module do I have and how much control does it have over timing (advance/retard)?
3) Are here any electronic fuel injectors available as a direct replacement for the stock mechanical injectors (using the same or easily obtainable bungs)?



If anyone else is interested, the Megasquirt system I'm converting to is a "do-it-yourself" type kit for ANY spark ignited engine, and there is a lot of open support for it, but I needed to post here to get the above specific information about the Bosch CIS system used in the MB.
