Hi all - I'm new here, just got my C230K yesterday... it's great! One thing I just noticed - I've got a 2003 model, and the driver and passenger seatbelts are way back behind the seats and somewhat hard to reach. I'm thinking this is just something I have to live with - but then I see another 2003 model on my dealer's lot that has plastic seatbelt extenders that hold the strap closer to the front seats. I don't have anything like this on my car, of course...
So I ask the dealer why my 2003 C-coupe is different from some of the others on the lot, and he tells me that MB changed the seatbelt design right after they had already rolled some 2003 models off the line because people complained about the location of the belts. Unfortunately, he says that this can't be added after the fact to my coupe, because it's bolted to the frame (his words). This sounds wierd to me - why would MB change the seatbelts mid-year right in the middle of production instead of waiting for 2004?
My question is - does anybody else with a 2003 model have seatbelt extenders (or not), and does anybody know if the dealer is correct in that I can't add it to the car myself?
Sorry for the long-ish post, any answers would be appreciated!
