The speakers in the car aren't bad. The problem is the MB-Alpine headunit. It is pretty weak. It is possible to add an amp and a sub. Many owners have swapped out the MB-Alpine cassette unit for the Becker Audio 10, which is standard in Europe. It can be had in either a cassette version or a cd player version. A new cd Audio 10 can be purchased from www.autoclass.net for $649. Most people are buying theirs on the German ebay site. Some in the US may become available when they are swapped for the Euro COMAND we were discussing. If you decide to go with an Audio 10 please let me know. There are some things you should know before bidding, but I'm too lazy to type them if you aren't going to buy one.

Lynn, I know that you are getting the euro command soon. Could you tell me how I can get my hands on one in canada without bidding on the German Ebay site? I don't trust it too much cause I can't read the german and it's half a world away... Thanks :wink:

He has shipped COMAND's directly to purchasers, but is not doing so now because of some poor installations by the buyers or their stereo shops. Since you live in Canada, he might work with you. On the other hand, he might want you to come to San Francisco while he is there, or he might fly to Seattle if you pay for it. I doubt that he would come to Canada due to customs considerations.
