2008 320CDI 260km Just purchased.
There is a clicking we hear through the steering when slow manoeuvring and parking. I’ve checked the coupling shaft and it seems tight - looks like it’s quite new based on paint. But the bearing through the firewall has play. Am I right to assume this would be the source of the noise? I have a video but no idea how to post it.
Can this bearing be removed to replace without disconnecting the coupling from the steering rack?
Second question - would this play account for on centre “numb” feel in the steering? New to owning a Merc so no idea how they normally feel.
