Had a very nice 2014 c class AMG that bought approx one year ago
Last summer panoramic glass roof shattered whilst on driveway
( See Internet for details of this problem which has apparent.ly caused lots of legal challenges in USA still ongoing)
Within ten minutes of, shattering covered car with heavy
Duty caravan cover .just as well as replacement roof not available from mercedes for 4 weeks!!
When new roof arrived at dealers took car to them and after being with them for some days roof was replaced.drove car home approx 3 miles.
Tried to restart next morning transmission locked no start.
Rang garage and had car recovered to them
They had car for many days unable to find problem
Eventually informed that car was flooded inside and this had knocked out electrics.
Told us that car must have been flooded when taken to them for roof repair!
We know for a fact that when we uncovered the car to take it for repair the inside was totally dry as under a tarpaulin for four weeks with a wet interior would certainly have left smells and condensation quite visible.
Car has been with garage ever since and they have not taken any action to resolve the problem except to refer it to their solicitors.
We have tried making representations to various bodies Inc mercedes but they all just refer it back to the garage and their response is that they refuse to accept any responsibilty.
Am now _ÂŁ14000 out of pocket and have been without a car for six months.
Can anyone offer some sensible advice on the way forward.
When you buy a quality car and deal with a.quality dealership surely it's not wrong to expect quality treatment
