Just got my C200 Kompressor Avantgarde yesterday. It came with a stock Dunlop Sport SP2020 225/50R16 tires.

Questions:
1) Did any of you get Dunlops with your C-Class? If not, what tires did you car come with?
2) Are these Dunlop tires OK? I would have wanted Michelins instead.

Thanks in advance for your help.

My coupe came with 16" Michilen MXV4 Plus all seasons. I'm gonna replace with 17.5" wheels and Michilen Pilot series tires. I've driven on many different brands of tires: Pirelli, Dunlops, Continentals, Yokohama, Toyo. In my opinion, the best tires are Michilen Pilot series. They wear really fast if you drive agressively (5,000 to 7,000 miles, that's it!) but they offer the highest performance for the money. My second choice would be Yoko's (most economical, relatively high performance) If you don't drive agressively, just go for the cheapest tire you can find. :(

I got the Continentals too. C7 Package. I love the look but they don't wear as well as I hoped.

Interesting...

A friend of mine in Miami picked up his c230k sedan on monday. His came with Michelin's. Same car by another person in the Central US a few weeks earlier got Continental's.

How do they determine this?

Whatever is the next set of tires on the assembly line is what gets put on. More cars seam to get Michelins than Contis. No car company does business with just one tire manufacturer, unless it is for a low production model.

C230 Tires(tyres!):2003 New car

Hi,

My new 2003 C230 came with Pirelli P6 M&S tires. Unless one is a rally driver performing on city streets, these tires should be ok in winter. The P6 has been around for ever. Much like the Michelin MXV4s. For deep snow, we all should have snow tires on all four wheels. But for most driving, they are not necessary with rear wheel cars where you can counter-steer. I have always driven rear wheel drive cars--including a long drive from Ontario to Florida, through Pennsylvania in a snow-storm--on Michelin MXV4s(M&S). Who had cars in the ditch and off the road generally: drivers with 4x4s ie. trucks & AWDs--overdriving their/vehicle's capabilities. A good driver knows his/her limitations.

2003 C230 Coupe(Actually a Hatchback!):Tires

Hi y'all,

My Canadian car came with Pirelli P6's M&S. I wanted Michelin MXV4's but that's what I got. And, they are quiet and quite grippy.
They seem more than adequate on muddy country roads!! We don't get much snow on Vancouver Island!!
