Wanted to find out if there is a downside to tinting the windows of my new
coupe.

I guess it all comes down to personal preference.

The only downside I can think of is the tint scratching if not installed correctly ie. Placing moleskin on parts that can touch the tinted side of the glass.

Metallic tints may interfere with your radio reception.

I just wanted to mention that I just got tints on my car and I highly recommend getting 3M tints. My husband has had 3M on his car for many years and they still look great! Check out the yellowpages for a 3M dealer in your area.
