My wiper started freezing a few weeks ago and at first I thought it was the dryness of the screen coz they would work after I sprayed the window washer. Last Friday my wiper blade got caught on the edge of the windscreen and I have to now manually return to position. Any hints on how to rectify this coz my mechanic says it might need a new wiper system or maybe the system has jumped out of it's course.

Can you hear the motor running when the wipers aren't working?

It's probably going to be either one of two things, a bad motor or wiper assembly. The cowl would have to come out to be sure.

No I can't hear the motor when it jams. If I move the wiper blade to a shorter size it works well but I'm sure it's not right coz the marks on the windscreen show that it's not following the usual path. It's using 24inch blades but they wont work well at the mo.
