Hi all,
Car starts up from cold and runs nearly perfectly. If I shut it off and restart it while it is still warm, it hesitates to a great extent, to the point that I have to be very conservative pulling out into or across traffic. The car ALSO had problems re-starting until I replaced the fuel accumulator last week. Now it restarts fine and is a lot better in the hesitation department (it was almost un-driveable before).
I 'think' I also notice that it now the shifts hit harder and seems to shift prematurely. So, in addition to the engine not putting out as much power with dead throttle response, it also ends up a gear higher than it should be at...
The other thing I notice is that the 'economy' gauge is a lot more sensitive after restarting it. Just slight pressure on the pedal puts the needle all the way into the red, all the while with underwhelming acceleration. By contrast, after starting up cold, moderate pedal gets the needle about half-way with acceptable acceleration.
I got the idea to replace the fuel accumulator from other forum and am glad that it did help, but puzzled as to what could be the next problem. Even before replacing, the car ran nearly perfectly when started up from cold.
Any ideas on what might be the problem or troubleshooting steps would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
